No stranger to running and some blistering elite marathon times in his heyday including a 2.46.25 at London in 1985, David has humbly supported the half from its early days contributing to much needed prize funds. You can always find David in our race village at prize giving!
David and his wife Gillian have lived in and around Chippenham all their lives. They were founder members of CLOGS Musical Theatre. David was Education and Arts officer for Chippenham Borough Lands Charity for 21years, retiring in 2015. He has also been a Chippenham town councillor since 2003.
Having served twice as mayor David is passionate about his town,contributing substantially to the community through his services to various organisations including the Rise Trust and the Pickwick MAT .

The grandfather of six has two married daughters: Stacey Webb and Sarah Button, both experienced runners who have completed the Chippenham Half Marathon several times.
This very short bio comes from the Half Marathon in the form as a "Thank you" to David for his work, love and support to our event.
