The Chippenham Half Marathon is a fast, accurately measured, and predominantly flat course starting and finishing at Chippenham Sports Club and (next to Chippenham Town Football ground).

The route goes through the of the centre of the historic market town of Chippenham and continues the countryside tour through the villages and hamlets of Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon, Kellaways and Langley Burrell, before returning to the town for a fast downhill finish into the sports club cricket pavilion.

This is an ideal race for both first-timers and experienced runners aiming for a personal best.

Event Reviews

It was a brilliant well organised event with a super vibe and I’d love to pace it for you again next year

Lovely, well organised event, thank you! Super supportive marshals and spectators, fantastic medal and finisher long-sleeve shirt. And thanks to the local school for allowing car parking on their field.

To ensure the safety of competitors and spectators road closures will be in operation at the very start of the Chippenham Half Marathon between 9:00am and 10:15am and as the runners head back towards the finish from 10:20am to 1:00pm. All affected roads will be opened as soon as the runners have passed through and it is safe to do so. Warning signs will be put up on affected streets several weeks before the race and we are working closely with Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police and other agencies to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.

9:00am to 10:15am - Bristol Road (A420) will be closed to all through traffic from the Folly roundabout at the junction with Hardenhuish Lane to the junction with Woodlands Road. At 9:30am all of Bristol Road, Park Lane, New Road, The Causeway and London Road to the junction with Pewsham Way will be closed just before the race starts and will be reopened as soon as the runners have passed through and it is safe to do so.
