A map of the course can be found here so you can see where the route goes. On the day the route will be well marked with marshalls present at junctions and turns to tell you which way to go. Mile markers will also be placed on the course so you will know how far you have run.
For safety reasons the organisers of the Chippenham Half Marathon ask you NOT to use music players whilst running in this event.
It is imperative that all runners are aware of their environment and can hear instructions from marshals and police.

Yes, running is fun and we want to make it a fun day for everybody. If you would like to run in fancy dress then we welcome it but please remember that we would like you to finish within 3 hours 20 minutes so no costumes that will slow you down too much!
Toilets are always a big issue at races! Toilets will be available at a number of locations in and around the Chippenham Sports Club site. We are confident that we have got the numbers right so there should be more than enough to go around!! Please make sure that you do use the facilities available and that you leave yourself ample time before the start of the race.
The roads will be closed as you run through the town centre but after that there will be light traffic. Busy junctions will be controlled by the police and marshalls. Please ensure that you follow their directions.
You have a choice just before you reach East Tytherton. You can either take a short cut by turning left and cutting out the 'Avon Loop' or you can elect to do the full distance. Each option has consequences. If you take the short cut you will not have completed the half marathon and will be declared DNF (did not finish) in the results. If you do the full distance, there will be reduced or no marshalling and the race village may be a little depleted on your arrival. If you manage to maintain at least a 'brisk walking' pace you should be able to finish within the cut off time.
If you are unable to finish the race for whatever reason you should report to the nearest marshall who will arrange for you to be transported back to the finish. If you are unable to make it to a marshall then remain where you are and wait for one of our sweep vehicles.
The chip timing and results service is being provided by DBMax. The results will be published as soon as possible and we hope to make them available here on the same day as the race.
