For safety reasons the organisers of the Chippenham Half Marathon ask you NOT to use headphones or earbud (music players) whilst running in this event. This is due to the race taking place on public roads and pathways, some of which will be open during the majority of the event.
It is imperative that all runners are aware of their environment and can hear instructions from marshals and police.
Due to these safety precautions, we will have to disqualify any runners who are found to be wearing headphones during the race. Please inform race officials if you are using a hearing device to avoid disqualification.

You have a choice just before you reach East Tytherton. You can either take a short cut by turning left and cutting out the 'Avon Loop' or you can elect to do the full distance. Each option has consequences. If you take the short cut you will not have completed the half marathon and will be declared DNF (did not finish) in the results. If you do the full distance, there will be reduced or no marshalling and the race village may be a little depleted on your arrival. If you manage to maintain at least a 'brisk walking' pace you should be able to finish within the cut off time.
The chip timing and results service is being provided by DBMax. The results will be published as soon as possible and we hope to make them available here on the same day as the race.
