Chippenham Harriers - The friendly running club

It is easier to train with a friend or a club as it’s a lot more enjoyable and training with other people helps motivate you to get out the door when it’s wet and windy!

If you live in and around Chippenham then why not come and join us at Chippenham Harriers. We are a friendly running club with 150+ active members and we welcome runners of all abilities over the age of 17 years.

Avon Valley Runners

Avon Valley Runners is a running club based in West Wiltshire. The club was founded in 1986 and currently has some 160 members of all abilities. They meet at least three times a week at their training venues in Trowbridge, Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon with typically 40-50 members running from 1 to 10 miles in different pace groups.



Bitton Road Runners

Bitton Road Runners is a running club based in the east of Bristol which caters for all running abilities. Founded in 1986 to help people better enjoy the sport of running, they are a thriving club with over 200 members in both junior and senior sections. Club seniors meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Oldland Abbotonians Football Club, Oldland Common. New members are always welcome. Induction nights are held on the second Thursday of every month. Beginner runs are also held every Thursday at 6.30pm.


Bristol&West AC

Bristol&West AC is the place to be if you are interested in athletics and running. Whether you are a serious athlete or just run for fun and fitness everyone is welcome.


City of Bath AC

City of Bath AC was formed in 1974 and currently has about 400 members. On 1st April 2007 the Club formed a partnership with TeamBath (Bath University) and changed their name to TeamBath A.C. Club nights are every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.00pm where about 90 members meet at the Sports Training Village, University of Bath. Newcomers are welcomed and will be introduced to someone who is of about the same standard.


Calne  Running Club

Calne Running Club meets at 7.00pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Recreation Ground on Anchor Road in Calne. All standards of runner are welcome to both sessions. Tuesday night is the club run and is usually a 5 or 6 mile run around the local area. In summer, runs often take in the countryside surrounding Calne including the Cherhill Downs and Bowood Estate. In winter, runs centre more around the town in the interests of safety. On Thursday nights, they organise more structured sessions.


Corsham Running Club

Corsham Running Club encourage and support their members in running and taking part in multi sports. The club welcomes all standards and sees its role in helping to support fitness in the community. They meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start at the Springfield Centre, Beechfield Rd, Corsham.


Devizes  Running Club

Devizes Running Club meet at the Devizes Leisure Centre every Sunday at 9.00am and Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm. If you are over 17, enjoy running, and can see the benefit of training as a group, and taking part in races as part of a team, you are welcome to join them.



Frome Running Club

Frome Running Club has been going since 1981. They were founded during the running boom which grew at the time of the first London Marathon. The club caters for runners of all abilities, from competitive runners to people who just like running for the pleasure of it. They can be found at Frome Rugby Club every Wednesday evening at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start. These Wednesday night runs range from approximately 3 miles up to almost 9 miles. There are groups of varying ability and they make sure that no-one is ever left behind.


Great Western Runners

Great Western Runners was founded in July 1984 and has nearly 250 members. They are based at Bristol Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in Redland. The club meets on Wednesday, from 6.30pm with group runs at various paces, and over various distances from four miles upwards and are always attended by squads of over 50 runners. While running is often seen as a solitary activity, Great Western Runners show that it is also a group activity.


Highworth Running Club

Highworth Running Club are a small but well known running club located in Highworth, a small town near Swindon in Wiltshire. They have regular training sessions for beginners every Wednesday at 6.00pm and advanced session every Wednesday at 7.00pm both starting from Vorda Playgroup.



Hogweed Trotters Running Club

Hogweed Trotters Road Running Club try not to take themselves too seriously and try to make their runs as enjoyable as possible. The club was launched in November 2000 and has grown steadily each month to over 200 members currently. They cater for everyone from the beginner to the veteran and everyone is welcome. They meet at Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club on Wednesdays (6.30am), Fridays (9.15am and 6.30pm) and Sundays (8.30am and 9.30am).


Marlborough Running Club

Marlborough Running Club is based in the picturesque town of Marlborough, Wiltshire, set in the heart of the beautiful North Wessex Downs. The Club was founded in 1988, and currently has some 90 members. They meet three times a week. Their main training session is on Wednesday evenings, meeting at 7.00pm at Marlborough Leisure Centre. They also meet on Monday evenings for shorter, but more intensive training sessions and Saturday mornings for longer runs.


Pewsey Vale  Running Club

Pewsey Vale Running Club is based in the large village of Pewsey in the heart of beautiful countryside in the Eastern part of Wiltshire. The Club has around 50 members, and concentrates on Road, MT and Cross-Country running. Club nights are Tuesday & Thursday at Pewsey Sports Centre, at 7:00pm. Any one interested in becoming a member, or who would like to try it out first, or any visitors from other clubs who are in the area and fancy a run, just turn up - you'll be very welcome.


Stroud Athletic Club

Stroud Athletic Club is the largest athletics club in Gloucestershire with nearly 350 members. All Stroud AC training is presently based at Archway School with Indoor & Outdoor sessions on Tuesday, including running on Thursday, all starting at 6.00pm. There are several different groups ranging from our fast 5min miler to the great 12min milers.


SMARTT

SMARTT (St Mary’s Running and Tri Team) are based at St Mary's School Sports Centre, Calne in Wiltshire. The club was founded in January 2007 and all abilities are welcome from the non-runner to the experienced athlete. The Wednesday night 7.00pm - 8.00pm sessions are structured sessions which include a group warm up, drills and a coached running session. The club also meets on a Sunday morning at 9.00am for those of you who want to do a long run. The Sports Centre provides the routes - usually three miles and upwards.


Warminster  Running Club

Warminster Running Club was founded in September 1983 by a group of likeminded people who felt that there was a demand for an organised body to represent the needs of runners in the Warminster area. They meet at 7.15pm every Wednesday night come rain or shine inside The Warminster Cricket Pavilion on Sambourne Road, all standards are welcome.


Westbury Harriers

Westbury Harriers is a well established running club, based in Bristol. We cater for all ages (youngsters of 9 to young-at-heart of 65+) and abilities (complete novices to established international). Their training venue during the winter is at The Bristol University Playing Fields ("Coombe Dingle") and during the summer at their Club House in Blaise Castle. Sessions are on Mondays and Thursdays and start at 7.00pm.
