Since you voted the Chippenham Half Marathon into 5th place in the Runners World Top 50 UK Races of 2009 we just had to come back again for 2010!!

You'd better start training now though because there are only....
As last year the race will be run over a fast, accurately measured and predominantly flat course starting and finishing at our club base – Chippenham Sports Club. The route will go through the centre of Chippenham and then follow scenic country lanes visiting local villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, Langley Burrell, Avon and East Tytherton. This event is ideal for first timers or experienced long distance runners looking to achieve a personal best.

Start Time: 9:30am
Cost: £17 affiliated, £19 unaffiliated - Minimum age 17 years on race day.
The race will be run under ARC Rules (ARC Race Permit no: Applied For) and the course has been measured and certified as accurate by an accredited course measurer.
There is easy access to the race event base at Chippenham Sports Club by road (5-10 minutes from Junction 17 on the M4) and there is ample off-road parking within a couple of minutes walk of the changing area, baggage store and start. Alternatively Chippenham train and bus stations are just a ten minute walk away.
All the usual aspects of quality organisation can be expected
- Gun to Chip and Chip to Chip timing (provided by Sport Systems).
- Well marked and marshalled route
- Course measured and certified as accurate with appropriate ARC Race Permit (no: Applied For)
- Selected road closures will be in operation
- Changing and baggage facilities
- Ample toilet facilities
- Good start procedures
- No overcrowding
- 4 drinks stations providing bottled water
- Refreshments available at the finish
- Prompt results service
- Goody bag with T–shirt and medal for all finishers

- Men and Ladies overall: 1st-£100, 2nd-£75, 3rd-£50, 4th-£25, 5th-£15.
Plus an engraved glass trophy.
- MV40 and FV35: 1st-£25, 2nd-£15 and an engraved glass trophy.
- MV50 and FV45: 1st-£25 and an engraved glass trophy.
- MV60 and FV55: 1st-£25 and an engraved glass trophy.
- MV70 and FV65: 1st-£25 and an engraved glass trophy.
- Club Team Male (4 to count): 1st-£100 plus each team member to receive an engraved glass trophy.
- Club Team Female (3 to count): 1st-£75 plus each team member to receive an engraved glass trophy.
- Corporate Team Challenge (8 to count): 1st-£100, engraved silver salver, 8 bottles of champagne and glasses.
- Setting a new course record for male (1:09:36) or female (1:21:51), £50 donated by Chippenham Sports Club.
Sport Systems are handling all the online and postal entries, chip timing the event and providing the results service.
SportCam will take photos of all the runners. If you would like to browse or buy your photos you will find them on their website on the Monday after the race.

If you don't feel quite as sprightly as you would like when you cross the finish line or perhaps you would have liked to run but your body just won't let you then why not have a chat with the The Park Lane Practice who will be with us on the day to provide help, advice and support.

Platinum Vauxhall who have showrooms and service centres in Chippenham, Trowbridge and Frome have very kindly agreed to provide Chippenham Half Marathon with a lead car for the race. The lead car will preceed the runners and will have a race clock mounted on its roof which will provide accurate race timing.
